Agreement and launch markets

The initial paid launch is for customers resident in the United States. Germany is planned as an additional market; a German translation alone does not mean German subscriptions are available. Do not misrepresent your residence. These Terms apply when you expressly accept them at checkout and we confirm your paid subscription. The plan, price, billing interval and material features shown at checkout form part of the agreement. When a paid subscription starts we will send a confirmation and a copy of the applicable terms by email. Free beta access remains governed by the Beta Terms and does not automatically become a paid subscription.

What the service is

Margo is a macOS application with an iPhone companion, plus a Margo Account that signs you in on both, syncs what the iPhone needs, and holds your subscription. It reads sources you connect on your own Mac, and it reasons about them through Margo’s AI service, which uses a third-party AI provider named in the privacy notice.

Who can subscribe

You must be at least 18, have capacity to enter this agreement, and provide accurate account and billing information. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize, but these Terms do not make you automatically liable for unauthorized charges or compromise outside your control.

Your licence

During your subscription, Margo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on supported Macs and iPhones you own or control. One subscription is for one person. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or remove ownership notices, except where applicable law permits it. Margo and its licensors retain their rights in the software. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their applicable licences.

Your content, connected accounts and privacy

You retain your rights in your content. You authorize Margo to process, transmit and store it only as needed to provide the features you request, maintain and secure the service, and comply with law, as explained in the privacy notice. This includes cloud processing and synchronization where a feature uses them; your data is not necessarily confined to your device. This permission does not transfer ownership or give us a general right to sell your content.

Connect only accounts and information you are entitled to use. Permissions can be withdrawn through the available app or provider settings. Keep independent copies of important information and review suggested actions before relying on them. The privacy notice explains data rights, retention and deletion; agreeing to these Terms is not consent to optional marketing or optional data processing.

Price, billing and renewal

Margo is sold in three plans, each billed monthly: Margo Basic at US$8.99 per month, Margo Pro at US$17.99 per month and Margo Max at US$34.99 per month. No other billing interval is on sale.

Every plan includes the same Margo. Higher plans give Margo more reasoning power and a larger weekly allowance of AI use; the pricing page describes each plan. Which AI model serves a plan is chosen by Margo’s AI service and is not named or promised — what a plan offers is its reasoning power relative to the other plans and its allowance.

• You subscribe while signed in to your Margo Account. Stripe processes payments; we do not receive your full card details. The currency, billing interval, total and applicable taxes are disclosed before you place the order.
• By expressly agreeing to a recurring subscription at checkout, you authorize the disclosed recurring charges until cancellation. US subscriptions renew for the disclosed interval at the applicable price. The Germany provisions below override this renewal rule for German consumers.
• Cancel through Manage subscription and invoices on your account page, which opens Stripe’s customer portal. You may also request cancellation at help@margo.global. No telephone call is required. Cancel before the next renewal to avoid that renewal charge. We confirm cancellation by email; access normally continues through the paid period.
• We provide legally required renewal and trial reminders. A failed payment may lead to notice and suspension; it does not authorize undisclosed charges. A refund or cancellation right required by law is not limited by this paragraph.
• For US customers, a price increase takes effect no earlier than the next renewal after at least 30 days’ advance notice, and later if the law requires. You may cancel before it takes effect. We obtain any additional consent required by law. The Germany provisions below apply to German price changes.
• Before a plan change, its effective date and any immediate charge, credit or proration are disclosed for your confirmation. An upgrade is not permission for undisclosed fees.
• The free beta does not convert into a paid plan. Starting a paid subscription requires a separate checkout and express authorization.

Refunds and, where it applies, your right of withdrawal.

The AI Margo uses

AI use is included up to your plan’s disclosed weekly allowance, which resets every seven days. A separate AI subscription is not required. The privacy notice identifies relevant providers and processing. Internet access and compatible devices are your responsibility; the download page lists system requirements. Connected services may require their own accounts and permissions. Their outages can affect features, but do not remove our contractual responsibilities or your statutory remedies.

What Margo cannot do

Margo uses AI to suggest plans and actions from potentially incomplete information. Outputs can be inaccurate; review important facts and decisions independently. Margo does not promise a particular personal, academic, professional or financial outcome and is not a medical, legal, financial or emergency service. Do not rely on it for safety-critical decisions. These limitations do not excuse failure to supply the agreed service or remove rights relating to defective digital products.

Acceptable use

Do not use Margo to break the law, to process other people’s data without a right to, to attack the service, or to work around the usage limits of Margo’s AI service, including your plan’s weekly allowance. Do not share one subscription across several people.

Ending it

You may cancel as described above. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful use, material breach or non-payment. We explain the reason and offer a reasonable opportunity to remedy it where feasible, unless law or urgent security needs prevent this. You may contact help@margo.global to challenge a suspension. If we discontinue a paid service or terminate your subscription, we refund prepaid fees for the remaining unused period. Statutory rights to immediate termination remain unaffected.

Deleting your account ends access and stops future subscription renewals. To retain access for the period already paid for, cancel renewal first and delete the account after that period. Account deletion alone does not create a refund entitlement beyond the Refund Policy and applicable law. Save any information you need before deletion; retention and deletion are explained in the privacy notice.

Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live, and where a term here conflicts with such a right, the right wins.

Law and disputes

The laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable US federal law govern these Terms, without displacing mandatory consumer protections of your habitual residence. For German consumers, this choice does not deprive you of protections that cannot be excluded under German law. Either party may bring a claim before a court with lawful jurisdiction. These Terms impose no mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver, jury-trial waiver or exclusive Virginia venue.

Changes

We may provide updates needed for security, compatibility and legal compliance. We will not use an update to remove paid core functionality without appropriate notice and a remedy. A materially adverse change entitles you to end the affected service and receive a refund for the unused prepaid period; stronger statutory rights remain. German digital-product change rights below take priority.

The version accepted at checkout governs your subscription. Material changes to these Terms are notified in advance on a durable medium and require your express agreement before they bind you. Silence is not acceptance. If you do not agree, the existing terms continue unless the subscription is lawfully ended with notice and any applicable refund. Changes do not retrospectively alter accrued rights or existing disputes.

Service obligations and liability

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the agreed description. No service is guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not exclude statutory warranties, impose a contractual damages cap, or exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Liability and remedies otherwise follow applicable law. There is no obligation for you to indemnify Margo under these Terms.

Additional terms for consumers in Germany

These provisions apply when Margo accepts a subscription from a consumer habitually resident in Germany and prevail over conflicting provisions above. The total consumer price includes applicable VAT and is stated before the order. The order button clearly identifies the obligation to pay. You receive the contract terms, cancellation information and withdrawal instructions on a durable medium.

After the agreed initial term, the subscription continues for an indefinite duration and may be cancelled at any time with no more than one month’s notice. It does not renew into another fixed annual commitment. Prepaid amounts attributable to time after the effective termination date are refunded. Statutory termination for good cause is unaffected.

The sign-in-free cancellation function required by §312k BGB will be at Cancel a contract. It is not in use yet, because nothing is on sale; it must be working and verified before a German subscription can be accepted.

The statutory 14-day withdrawal right is explained in the withdrawal instructions. Downloading or starting Margo does not by itself waive that right. Any charge for service delivered before withdrawal requires your express request for early performance, the required prior information, and the other statutory conditions. Statutory rights for defective digital products, including required updates, cure, price reduction, termination and damages where available, are unaffected by our voluntary refund policy.

Price increases require your express agreement; these Terms grant no unilateral price-increase right for German consumers. Changes beyond those necessary to maintain conformity may be made only for a valid reason stated here: adapting to a changed operating system or connected-service interface, addressing a security threat, or complying with changed law. They must be without additional cost and clearly explained. Where access or use is adversely affected beyond a minor degree, we provide advance information on a durable medium and the statutory right to terminate free of charge within 30 days after the later of that information or the change, unless the unchanged conforming product remains available without extra cost.

Contact and remaining provisions

Contact help@margo.global or the postal address above about these Terms. Informal contact is welcome but is not a condition for exercising legal rights or starting proceedings. If a provision is unenforceable, applicable law governs its effect and the remaining provisions continue where legally possible. A failure to enforce a right on one occasion does not waive it. Any transfer of this agreement by Margo must preserve your rights and comply with applicable law. These Terms, the selected offer and the Refund Policy form the subscription agreement; the privacy notice explains processing and is not a waiver of privacy rights.
