Your data

Ask us for it, or ask us to delete it.

One caveat worth reading first: most of what Margo knows about you lives on your Mac, where you can delete it yourself. Your Margo Account holds what your iPhone needs.

Where your data actually is

  • On your Mac. Goals, journal, observations, commitments — a database and a folder inside your home folder. Deleting the app and that folder deletes them from the Mac.
  • With us. Your Margo Account — your account details, your devices and the records synced for your iPhone — which you can delete from your account page. And whatever this website holds: a support message, a subscription record. This is what the form below acts on.
  • With Margo’s AI provider, through Margo’s AI service. The text Margo sent in order to think goes to the company whose AI Margo uses, under Margo’s agreement with them. Margo’s AI service keeps a record of the use, not the text. The privacy notice names that company.
  • With Google, if you connected Google Calendar. Their copy, in your own Google account. Margo can read it but cannot change it.

How we handle a request

  1. You send it below. We record that we received it, and when.
  2. For access, correction or deletion we email that address to confirm it is yours. We do not ask for identity documents and we do not want a photograph of you.
  3. We look in every place it could be: our own records, our payment processor, our host, backups, and anything derived from it.
  4. We do it, and we tell you it is done, along with anything we had to keep and why — billing records, for instance, have a legally required retention period we cannot shorten.
A received request is not a completed deletion. We will say which one you have.

Opting out

We do not sell or share personal information and we do not do targeted advertising, for anyone, so there is nothing to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal — a setting some browsers send on your behalf — we honour it as an opt-out regardless. You can still use the form to record the request, and you do not need an account to do it.

What we do not have

Requests are answered from the records we actually hold. We are one small operation with very little data, not a company with a data warehouse, and the honest version of a data request here is usually “your account, your devices and what was synced for your iPhone”.

By email, which always works

Email help@margo.global. Say which of the things above you want. You do not need to use the form, and while collection is switched off the form cannot record anything, so email is the working route today.

Please do not attach identity documents. We do not ask for them and do not want them.
