Refunds
This policy applies to paid subscriptions purchased directly from Margo LLC. It distinguishes cancellation of future renewals, voluntary refunds and statutory rights. US launch customers and future German customers retain all mandatory rights.
The three things
| Action | What it does | Money back? |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel | Stops the next renewal. You keep access to the end of the period you paid for. | Not automatically; refund entitlements below and statutory rights still apply. |
| Withdraw | A statutory right in the EU and UK to undo a distance contract within 14 days. It is not the same as cancelling, and it is not something we grant — it is something you have. Details. | Yes, under the rules on that page. |
| Refund | Returning money under this policy or applicable law. | In the cases below. |
When we refund
- Technical failure. If Margo does not work on your supported Mac and we cannot fix it, report the problem within 14 days of your first paid subscription for a full refund of that initial payment. This reporting window does not limit statutory defect rights.
- Billing errors. Duplicate payments and renewal charges taken after a timely cancellation are refunded in full for the erroneous charge. Tell us as soon as you notice the error; the 14-day technical-failure window does not apply.
- Service ended by Margo. If we discontinue the paid service or end your subscription, we refund the unused prepaid portion, calculated by the remaining days in the paid billing period. Refundable tax is included.
When we usually do not
Except where this policy or applicable law provides otherwise, cancelling does not refund periods already used or create a prorated refund for the rest of the paid period. Mere disagreement with an AI suggestion is not itself a refund reason. This does not exclude a claim that the service is defective, misleadingly described or not delivered as agreed, or any statutory remedy.
How to ask
Email help@margo.global or contact support with your account email, payment date, invoice or receipt reference if available, and a brief explanation. Never send full card details or passwords. We may request only information reasonably needed to identify the payment and assess the request. No telephone call is required. We explain the decision, and you can ask us to review it.
Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method, without a refund processing fee from Margo. After issuance, card refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on the bank; this is not a promise of the bank’s posting date. We send confirmation when the refund is issued. Statutory refund deadlines take priority over this estimate, and a refund required by law is not subject to discretionary approval.
German withdrawal and other statutory rights
For German consumers, withdrawal is distinct from cancelling renewal and does not require a technical problem. Follow the withdrawal instructions to exercise the statutory right. Refunds following withdrawal are made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your declaration, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise without cost. Any lawful deduction for early service requires the express request, information and other conditions described there. Rights concerning defective digital products and repayment for time after an effective German termination remain unaffected. No voluntary 14-day reporting limit shortens those rights.
