How it works
What it connects to
Your calendar and your task list, which Margo reads but never changes; Gmail, if you choose to; and on the iPhone, the places you have named and your Screen Time report. Each one is optional, and you connect it from inside the app. Google Drive is not part of this beta.
| Connection | What it does | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Google Calendar | Reads your schedule so that plans fit the week you actually have. Margo can read your calendar but cannot change it. | Your Google account, connected from inside Margo, giving it permission to read your calendar but not to change it. |
| Calendars on your Mac | Reads the calendars already set up in the Mac’s Calendar app, instead of Google Calendar. | Calendar access, which macOS asks you for once. |
| Google Tasks | Reads what you have given yourself to do and when it is due. Margo can read your tasks but cannot change them. | The same Google connection as your calendar. |
| Reminders on your Mac | Reads the reminder lists already on this Mac. Margo can read them but cannot change them. | Reminders access, which macOS asks you for once. |
| Gmail | Reads the headers of your recent mail — sender, subject, date — and the preview line, never the full message, to spot replies you owe and deadlines. It can write an email for you, and it is sent only when you press Send. | Your Google account, connected from inside Margo, plus the Gmail permission you give on Google’s own permission screen. |
| Places (iPhone) | Notices when you arrive at or leave a place you named. One location fix while the app is open; never background tracking. | Location access while using the app, which iOS asks you for once. |
| Screen Time (iPhone) | Shows Apple’s own Screen Time report inside the app. The report stays inside the sealed part of the system Apple keeps it in, and Margo cannot read it back out. | Screen Time access, which iOS asks you for once. |
